Today was the Christening of the next generation of Delaney's. Technically, the new baby is a Wingfield. We gave the new family this little heirloom.
The print is called "The Awakening" by Bessie Pease Guttman (1876-1960). As Ms. Gutmann was a popular illustrator with images appearing on the cover of numerous magazines. There was also an industry to put images on plates and prints.
Since we are giving away the print, I snapped a photo and looked up the author. Massed produced prints do not seem to increase in value. You can buy new prints on Art.com for about $30. Used prints seem to be going on eBay for about the same price.
